After a long walk, we opted for shorter one today! We settled for two hours wandering around the Karangahake gorge historical area: a combination of big gorges and old gold & silver mine ruins & tunnels. Lots of chances to play in tunnels and excite Eddie with Headtorches.
Next, thanks to the Marple Girls, we were off to Hobbiton! Cheesy – yes. Touristy – yes. Awesome – yes! So many opportunities to stand by small doors. The attention to detail on the set is second to none. Finishing with a mug of beer (Hobbits don’t drink pints of course) and slice of pie before finding ourselves with another beautiful, fully serviced, free campsite for the night.
